Not at this time, but we'll be happy to help you sell yours on eBay! At present New Moon Comics has an overabundance of back issues from the 1980's - 1990's and we're redirecting our in-store floor space to gaming and toys, and removing our previous focus on back issues since there is little demand or value for many books that people have to sell. Your next question may be 'WHY?! My comics are worth $[feel free to insert any amount you wish here]!' To be quite honest, most old comics (mid 1970's - 1990's) - sad to say, aren't worth a thing. If you walk into a comic shop with 100 comics, odds are they'll pick out 1, or maybe 2 of your books, and offer you a fraction of their selling price, and the other 98 comics they won't give you a dime for. To further illustrate the devalue of comics from the '70's - '90's era, we've had success explaining it this way:
Action Comics #1 (June 1938) sold for $870,000.00 at auction (VG+ Condition) in 2003! In June of 1938 National Publications (which would become DC Comics) printed a total of 100,000 copies of this now classic comic. Currently there are believed to be 100 copies or less to exist, and of those that remain, it is also believed that there are fewer then 10 to be in any condition better then Good. Now, let's say you and everyone else goes back in time, and hits the newsstands on that faithful day and brings forward in time a copy or 10 of this comic... How much to do you think it would be worth? Once eBay fills up with 700,000 copies of a genuine 1938 copy of Action Comics #1 (ignoring the fact that only 100,000 were printed), this book would be worth.. Yep, $0.25 or less a pound. In the 1930's - early 1960's people did not save comics, they read them, gave them to friends, threw them away. In the '60's when the the first of the comic book stores opened selling back issues, people started to save them more often then not. By the late '70's direct marketing took hold, and dealers were (and still are) "stuck" with every comic on their shelves (Yep! that's true! There are no returns!!! What does not sell is not saved so we can "make money later" they are saved because we have no choice), not many people throw comics away. In the mid to late '80's, the publishers started catering to the "collector" rather then the reader of comics. This all came to a head with the speculator marketing ("Death of Superman" era of comics)... To keep this from going on forever, I hope you get the idea. No one throws anything away anymore. Everyone saves everything hoping for that big "pay day" for their "stuff". But to make it simple... Collectibles are collectible if they are truly "rare". The more "rare" something is, the more value it has. In a world with several thousand copies of a comic still "floating around" how can it be "valuable"? In truth, they are not. Most dealers will "over-charge" for books based on how "hot" it is. However, there are many more dealers, like us, that would rather sell 10 copies of a comic today to a customer at cover price, and have them return every month for another in the series, then sell those same 10 copies for $50 each and never see the customer again. - How's that for a FAQ-Answer? :) |

| Q | Do You Offer A Subscription Service? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A | We presently offer an in store "Pull & Hold" (or reserve) list. This service insures you receive your favorite books when they arrive. The only obligation to you is you have to purchase the books you have us hold. And you must "clean out" your box at least once a month.
We will, on occasion "stuff" a hold box with specific books that we feel you may be interested in. However, there is NEVER any obligation for you to purchase those "stuffed" books. |

| Q | Why Does The List Show Comics/Items That Are Not Arriving In The Store? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| A |
Although the list contains many items that we will not be receiving in the store, it is the detailed list provided by Diamond Comics Distributors, Inc. (The distributor for every comic shop on the planet) We are presently working on a way to show, or highlight the items within the Diamond list that will actually be arriving in the store. However, the daily operation of the retail store makes updating this information difficult at present. The information provided on our site is the same as the Diamond Comic Distributors, Inc. weekly update from their Shipping page, except ours contains graphics of the items (provided by Diamond). Again, please note that we do not get every item on the list, however, if you notice something you want, let us know as soon as you can, and we'll be sure to get it for you! http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping.asp is the URL for the Diamond Comic Distributors Shipping page! Just select the date you need (with or without adult material listed). More to come as needed. :) |
